    As the Calendar Pages Turn, Farmers Markets Get More Colorful

    I hadn't been to Chicago's Green City Market since before Dorothee and I embarked on the KickOff Tour on the West Coast, and the fruits and veggies that were on display this morning look a lot different from the ones we saw in early May. The root vegetables and greens like Swiss chard and collards that are most common in the beginning of the season are still there, but I also saw plenty of fresh berries, onions, garlic, grand heaps of broccoli (below, at left), mushrooms, lettuce, micro-greens (above), and even some tomatoes, to name a few.
