Best Food Movies of 2009

With the growing popularity of films like Food, Inc, Fresh and the upcoming Dirt!, Mark and I have been remarking that this would be a prime time to do a sustainable food-related film festival.

Here are some of the best new films about sustainable food and farming to watch out for:

Food, Inc. - In theaters now:

Fresh - Community screenings in select cities, learn how to host a screening here:

Dirt! - Screening at festivals:

Homegrown - Screening at festivals:

Food Matters - Screen the full length film online here:

The Greenhorns - Scheduled for release on Nov. 9th:

Also, watch out for the new film "Big River" by King Corn production team Wicked Delicate. The 30-minute film, which is set to be released in 2009, looks at how conventional agriculture affects our nation's water supply. You can join the King Corn mailing list for news about its release.

Have you seen any great food-related films or shorts this year that we missed? Feel free to add your favorites in the comment section below.
