Organic Pick of the Week: Ineeka Tea

A couple of months ago, I was in my local Whole Foods Market and a friendly product sample guy urged me to try a cup of freshly brewed Ineeka Organic Tea. Not one to pass up a free tester, I sort of absent-mindedly took the cup and continued shopping. When I took my first sip, I had to stop in my tracks. It was the most delicious Chai tea I'd ever tasted. Not only was the blend of Assam tea, ginger and spices rich and invigorating, it tasted fresh and incredibly nourishing. I bought my first recyclable aluminum case that day.

Ineeka teas are certified organic by CCOF as per USDA, NOP and IFOAM International Standards. The tea leaves are grown in the Himalayas on family farms that are fair trade certified by FLO. Each serving comes with a cool individual infuser which is maybe not the most eco-friendly concept but can be composted with the tea.

At around $10 a tin, this tea can be a bit pricey but the taste is definitely worth it.
