Photo Shoot: Back to School with Eco Fashion!

Even though I'm not going back to school, I used to love the ritual of gathering school supplies, stocking up on warm clothing and preparing for the winter. This weekend, with the leaves starting to change, it seemed like the perfect time to update my wardrobe with some versatile eco-friendly pieces and even break out a few vintage accessories from storage.

Mark and I staged a guerrilla fashion shoot throughout Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood on Saturday. We set out on Hoyne Avenue, one of our favorite streets, and from there we found a gorgeous fire-red maple tree, a patch of tall grasses and even The Burkhart Art Bus to use as our set!

Featured in several of these photos is my favorite new item that blends classic style with eco-conscious ingenuity: The Erma Boot by Greenbees. These gorgeous boots are made using reclaimed leather and recycled car tires and are so comfortable I haven't left the house in anything else since I got them! The photos also feature products by The Blessing Basket Project, SUST and muichic whose rings are designed and handmade in Colombia using the Tagua nut, otherwise known as "vegetable ivory".
