• A group of Chicago restaurants have formed a green restaurant co-op, reports Change.org's Sustainable Food blog, and those restaurants that meet the standards set by the group will get to display a "Guaranteed Green" symbol.

• The New York Times pens an editorial in favor of government price support for dairy farmers.

• "We can’t subsist entirely on parsnips and kale," writes Brian Donahue in a Boston Globe Op-Ed, and there are limits to how much of the food supply New England can source locally.
