- The results of the organic farming census are in, and in our home state of Illinois organic farmers make up just one-tenth of one percent of the state's farmland. Ouch.
- At a conference in Chicago last week, researchers unveiled the results of a new study demonstrating a link between the birth defect gastroschisis and the herbicide atrazine.
- The European Union picked a new organic logo yesterday. (Here are some of the runners-up.)
- A public housing project in the South Bronx will get a 10,000 square-foot greenhouse on the roof.
- USDA is accepting public comments on Monsanto's GM alfalfa, and the folks behind the movie FRESH have a comments form on their website.
- The Marine Stewardship Council's sustainable seafood rating system is losing its luster, according to The Atlantic's Barry Estabrook.
- "Has chefs' cooking gone too green?" asks Time magazine's Josh Ozersky. (I read the article, and I still don't really know what he's talking about.)
