- At a speaking engagement at Washington State University last week, Michael Pollan called for a new food bill in Congress that would "replace the federal Farm Bill that protects farmers when the cost of production is more than the price they receive for crops."
- An anonymous blogger launched Pollan Watch, a blog that seems to be aggregating negative press about Michael Pollan. (Via The Big Money)
- "Farming is big business, but some green activists are seeking to destroy it," writes urban planning and development commentator Joel Kotkin, moonlighting as an ag expert in Forbes. I've always disliked Kotkin's pro-suburban sprawl scribbling at NewGeography.org, but this might be his worst yet.
