Visiting Organic Farms on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington

We arrived to Port Townsend, WA last night, and we're staying with some friends at Colinwood Farm (pictured above). Colinwood is a 13-acre organic farm managed by Jesse Hopkins that produces organic tomatoes, leafy greens, flowers and a variety of other organic veggies.

In about an hour, we'll meet with Dr. John Navazio, a geneticist and the Senior Plant Breeder for the Organic Seed Alliance (OSA). We learned about OSA at the Organic Summit last week, and today we're going to visit Nash's Organic Farm in Sequim, WA to talk about seeds with Dr. Navazio. The OSA is a non-profit group that helps educate organic farmers on seed production and seed-saving skills, and hopefully they'll share with us some of their seed wisdom with us this afternoon.
