Wicked Delicate Releases 'Big River' Trailer
Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 10:42AM Since meeting producer Curt Ellis at the Organic Summit in early June, we've been waiting with bated breath to get a glimpse of 'Big River,' the follow-up to Wicked Delicate's 2007 film, 'King Corn.' About a week ago, Ellis and his partner Ian Cheney posted a two-minute trailer for the 30-minute film on their Vimeo channel, which I've embedded above.
The conceit for 'King Corn' was that Ellis and Cheney moved to Iowa to plant an acre of corn in order to find out what goes into the production of America's most subsidized crop. "This time they're following the runoff that leaves their acre of corn, on a journey that takes them from heartland cancer clusters to a hypoxic dead zone in the Gulf," according to the brief synopsis on the Vimeo page.
For more about 'Big River,' check out Dorothee's June interview with Curt Ellis.
